lead wedding & Event planner
In all honesty, I knew I wanted to be a wedding planner since I was in the seventh grade. My friend, Michelle, and I used to get dropped off at Barnes and Noble, order caramel frappuccinos from Starbucks, and look through every bridal magazine on the rack, critiquing everything from dresses and cakes, to beauty and decor. We would joke about the future and how one day she could see me telling someone “No, that's tacky; we’re not doing that.” As the years went on, I found opportunities to get involved in the world of weddings and event planning. My type-A, OCD personality lent itself well to the profession, as I already had a passion for making lists and keeping things organized. I loved planning; creating detailed schedules and being responsible for keeping people and events on track. It was a challenge and, at times, incredibly stressful, but I was excellent at it.
In college, I began working as an assistant to the Director of Sales at Lawn Club Fine Catering in New Haven, CT. I had an amazing boss who I learned a tremendous amount from. It was here that I also met John; a man who would turn out to be not only one of my best friends, but my business partner as well. As time went on and people and positions changed, I soon found myself as the Director of Weddings. Eventually, Soiree was born out of the desire to work with clients all over the country and create one-of-a-kind experiences at different venues, private homes, and resorts.
I have been in this industry for over twenty years and even on my most challenging days, there is truly nothing else I would rather be doing. There are so many incredible emotions associated with my job. The sense of satisfaction from executing a perfectly planned event. The immense joy I feel from watching our clients’ happiness play out in front of me. I cannot fully describe how rewarding it is to have a small part in one of the most memorable days in peoples’ lives. It is an honor and a privilege I do not take lightly and I thank God every day that I am blessed to be doing something I love so much. Mark Twain once said “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Never has this been more true.

more about Christine
lead wedding & Event Designer
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for entertaining (and being the life of the party!) From a young age, I was always drawn to the smells and action of the kitchen. It was my grandmother who first sparked this joy in me. As a child, around an age when a youngster should not have been using an oven, my grandmother and I would spend every moment together cooking and baking up a storm, decorating the house and the dinner table. Whether it was a big holiday meal or a regular Sunday family dinner, it was always a big production and I wanted to be right in the middle of it!
Fast forward to the present and I now have over twenty years in the hospitality industry under my belt. I studied Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of New Haven and received world-class hospitality training from top-notch institutions such as The Ritz Carlton, Walt Disney World Resort, Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club, and Lawn Club Fine Catering. The Lawn Club is where I met the yin to my yang, Christine Brush. Christine and I truly complement each other in the best way possible. Christine’s type-A, super organization and my creativity and innovation are some of the key components used to craft our remarkable events.
Several years later, our brainchild, Soirée, was born out of our passion for people-pleasing and pushing the envelope to create one-of-a-kind, memorable events. I am most happy when those around me are happy. I am genuinely kind, empathetic, and upbeat. In the current world where these qualities are lacking, I pride myself on my sincere good nature and whole-heartedness.
